I was disappointed when I first unboxed this item, and my opinion did not change much as time went on. First of all at almost $100 at the time of this order, I guess I was expecting more. For that price expecting something: at the very least a more functional product. This is basically just a plastic ice tray with straps. It appears as though no effort at all was made to make it comfortable to wear. The straps are just the same material as a laptop or camera case strap with no padding. It fits kind of like the loose uncomfortable adjustable strap vests that we used to wear in P.E. class to tell the teams apart during field sports. The ice tray plastic backing does not fit up against my body at all. It just rests on top of the portions that stick out the farthest. I do not run for exercise, but with the way this vest moved around on me while working in our orchard, I can't believe it would stay put and not bounce up and down with the movement involved in running. To it's credit the vest did cool me off during the hottest part of the day as advertised. But, not for very long. I got a less than half an hour of cooling time in 104 degrees Fahrenheit outside temperature. The product description said it was for running, and I do not know any joggers who go out for 30 minutes or less, so I really thought it would last longer. My overall opinion of the mpac+ Cooling Vest is mostly negative. For the price I feel like the product should live up to the description and offer longer cooling and a better fit. This is actually a nice cooling vest. It's small and doesn't take up too much room in my freezer, and stays frozen for around an hour in 90+ degree heat. This is the first cooling vest I have tried, so I can't really compare it to other cooling vests out there. But I can mention some of the advantages and limitations I've noticed. The good:1) Stays cold for as long as it says, and provides good contact with skin. The straps work well to get skin contact.2) It gets surprisingly cold, and definitely helps keep you from overheating.3) Seems to be well made, and looks pretty nice.4) Made in Korea. The bad:1) A bit hard to take on and off. It's better if you put this on and plan on keeping it on.2) The straps and material are a bit thin, and feel like they may not hold up indefinitely. I was hoping to wear this during workouts (barbell squats) but I'm not comfortable doing so due to durability questions.3) It's pretty small, it only covers around 1/3 of your torso. It's enough to cool you, but more would definitely be better.4) It looks a little goofy. My dogs actually started barking at me when I walked in with this on.Thoughts:It's a really nice cooling vest, but pretty small. That's good for your freezer, but not so good for cooling you off. The vest itself works quite well for keeping me cool, but if I had a choice, I would go for a larger one that covers more of your body. It's also made from thin (lightweight) material, which I don't think is really suitable for active work like construction or using during weightlifting.I got this cooling vest for my wife to wear outside because she has heat intolerance. It fits well and is easy to adjust with the clips. This will fit a petite to a large person. She wears this over her swimsuit and finds it comfortable. She does say it melts sooner than expected, at about 30 minutes in the heat of the summer. It is good for short periods of time outside, working in the garden, cutting grass, etc. It comes with easy to follow directions. It also comes with a bag to place it in before you put it in the freezer. She said it is easy to clean as it is a rubber like material.I was expecting something much more technical for nearly $95. If I weren't a Vine member and didn't get it free, I would be returning it!! But, we receive these products for an honest review and that is what I try to give. I will give an honest review of this mpac+ Cooling Vest.I ordered the vest for my adult son with whom I live. He works outside on a tractor a lot. He gets awfully hot in the summer here in the south!! I thought a cooling vest would be wonderful. The vest is adjustable, but it is really large. He has a lot of excess straps left after he tightens it to fit him. Unlike his mother, he has been thin all his life. Even at 50, he is still slim so the vest was plenty large for him.If you place this vest in the freezer as they suggest, it is VERY cold when you first put it on. You actually need some padding in between it and your skin such as a thick shirt. Who wants a thick shirt on in the summer? So, he has decided to leave it out for a while prior to putting it on. After putting it on, it keeps cool for a couple of hours, so it does help. What would make it worth the cost would be the ability to make it keep you warm in the winter!! Find a way to WARM the vest and a lot of hunters will also be purchasing this vest!!I have very mixed emotions about this vest now. It is fairly nice but just priced entirely too high. I wouldn't purchase it at this price so I can't recommend that anyone else do so either.I received the 18° C vest a couple weeks ago, and luckily just in time! It started getting into the 90s here, and working outside on my truck is always a sweaty adventure! But this product does a wonderful job of cooling your core temperature down, leaving you with more energy, a clearer head, and able to continue working even in the high heat. The only thing I’m concerned about is the longevity of the straps. They appear to have fibers running through them, but they’re nothing more than the same material the device is made out of. I suppose time will tell, and if they ever fail I’ll come back and edit this post. But for what I’m doing, this has been a wonderful asset in my bag of tricks! I recommend you try it out if you work in a hot environment and need to get cooled down.
